I spoil my kids.
I hate when they act bratty.
I set high expectations.
I get upset when people/events/things do not meet those expectations.
I make a lot of commitments.
I cry when I don't know how to complete all said commitments.
I pray.
I worry that I'm not living a "worthy" enough life.
I do the best I feel capable of doing.
I want to be able to do more.
I know I'm not perfect. Far from it actually. But I am a work in progress and I have a God who loves me... flaws [all of 'em] and all!

Can you dig it?
I love being off of school for a week before my next 2 classes begin. I feel like I can actually DO stuff... like browse Etsy. Here is what I'm totally digging today.

So simple and so cute!
I think I may have Aaron make me something like this...

Not a huge bird fan but how can these not be the cutest things ever?!?

And I adore this. So snuggly.

Two of these for my bedroom, please and thank you!

Snow Day 2011
I have been wanting a blizzard forever. I don't care if it snows as long as it means that I can stay home in my jammies and do nothing all day long, so when they were calling for a blizzard last week, I was ecstatic!
The snow... well the snow was slightly disappointing. I was hoping for drifts the size of the light poles and something that would go down in history. Not so much.
But that's beside the point because I was still snowed in! Everything in the county was shut down and that included my office. The first thing the kids asked for when they woke up was if we could have a Glee marathon. Um... deal. We watched a handful of episodes and then we spent the day...
...working on spelling words. Brodie loves doing them as long as he gets to do them online at www.spellingcity.com. Check it out if you have a kiddo who hates working on spelling words.
...potty training. Or at least taking another step in that direction. I love her little cheeks hanging out of her pajama top.
...sleeping. Poor Jackson was sick. Check him to the doc the next day and it was strep. I knew it!
...and in my jammie pants and slippers.
Best. Day. Ever.
But the snow can go away now. I'm so over it!

Cute Conversations
So I was going through some old papers and I found a little blurb between Jackson and myself that I had written down. He says funny stuff all the time so I try to write down the good ones so that I don't forget. I think this one is worthy.
Aaron got baptized last March and this is a conversation from a few weeks after that.
...He has two little friends named Christian and both are Hispanic. Took me a while to piece that together...
I love that kid.

Jackson: The other day when we were in the sanctuary at school, the teacher was telling us the story about how two men were in the water and the Christian got baptized! Just like Aaron got baptized! But Mom, Aaron’s not a Christian.
Mommy: Yes, Jackson, Aaron’s a Christian. He got baptized to show everyone out there how much he loves God.
Jackson: No, Mom! For real! Aaron’s not a Christian!
Mommy: Why do you think that?
Jackson: Because he’s not black. All Christians are black.

Lesson Learned
Do you ever have days when you're frustrated, tired, and flat out grumpy? I definitely woke up in a funk this morning. Not a good way to wake up, especially right after Christmas. Adie Jae woke up and was burning up. Fever city.
"Great." I thought to myself. Just what I need. So daddy and the boys went off to church and it was time for Adie to go down for a nappy nap. I thought, being that she's sick and all, I'd be a nice momma and let her crash in my bed for a few hours. The kids all love sleeping in our bed and consider it a huge treat. Me too. I have a great bed :)
So I lay down with her and she giggles at me for a while...

Then her feverish eyes get droopy...

Then the thumb pops in and she's out and snoring :)

Why do I wake up such a grump knowing how blessed I am to have such an amazing family?!? This little girl trusts me with her life and, for right now at least, I am her best friend. I am here to snuggle, to read books, to play Barbies, and to love on her. So thankful that God can teach lessons through a special little girl's fever.

Adie Jae
So in looking over some of my posts, I realized that I've completely been ignoring Miss Adie Jae. Am I a great momma or what? :/
So here is a post for my baby girl.
Adie is a girl who is, well, totally a girl.
She loves playing dress up.

She dances and sings like it's nobody's business!
She loves getting her way... and will make sure you KNOW when she didn't get her way...

She loves laughing.
She hates having her picture taken. :(
She is a girl who LOVES candy and cookies. I'm not exaggerating when I say loves...

She sleeps. A lot.
And you know when she's tired because she turns into a g.r.o.u.c.h.
Her best friend is Anderson, her "twin" cousin. They're only 10 days apart.

She loves to talk and she does a lot of it.
A lot.
She doesn't like to watch tv or movies very much.
She's a sensitive little thing (totally gets that from me... oops :/) and I love her to pieces! I am so thankful that we can shop, play, and giggle together.
Love her!
