Terrible threes

Things here are... good. I've been having some rough moments but in general, life is amazing.

We have reached a really really really bad point in discipline with Jackson. Nothing works. He is at the "i-will-talk-back-to-you-about-everything-and-throw-myself-on-the-floor-and-have-a-fit" stage. I can't handle it. I've tried spanking and smacking his mouth. They both make him cry but have no lasting effect and I'm not really cool with spanking my child every 5 minutes or so. Time outs work the best but are only good for an hour or so maybe. I can't take toys away when he doesn't pick them up because he could care less about them. He's just as content playing with a pillow or broom. I just haven't found the secret to him yet and how to break him of this. I cry a lot of nights after he goes to bed because he just tests me so much and pushes me to my limits. I try so hard to stay calm in front of him since I'm one to anger quickly and that's something I do not want him to see or pick up on. BUT on the other hand, he's so funny and such a ham and always tells me he loves me. I just keep telling myself this is a phase... this is a phase...

Is that phase over yet? And people keep telling me that three is worse than two. Guess who turns three on Friday?!? Ugh...

Speaking of birthdays... here are some pics from Jack's party on Saturday. He had a lot of fun!! The first couple are of him opening the gift from us Friday night.

We have been going to church regularly for the past month or so and I love it. I've always gone hit and miss and to go every week is so refreshing. I love Jim's messages and his passion. The boys both have Christmas programs coming up here and I cannot wait to see them in it! Jackson's never done any kind of program so I guarantee a bit of proudness coming out... ;) I'll try to keep it under control.

I'm really excited about Thanksgiving this week and Black Friday! I love spending time with my family and that is what I'm looking forward to most but I am one of those "get up at the crack on dawn" people that will be waiting in lines for stores to open on Friday. It's our tradition and I love it. Aaron said he wants to come this year because he runs faster than I do. Haha. I can't wait to see that!! All four kids are staying with my dad and Barb Thursday night so we can all get up to do this. I'm getting giddy just thinking about it!!

And I'll leave you with some super cute pics like always...

You're such a good mom, I love you. I know I don't have a lot of parenting experience but I did work at a daycare for a long time with a bunch of kids 2-4. yes the three year olds were worse than the two but they were worth it for every minute they were a pain there were two min. that they were just so sweet and loving. you're a wonderful mother. :) I love you!!!

My mom has told me for years that my payback will be threefold. I told her if that's really how it works that I was her and Dad's payback :) hehehe...

Yesterday he kept putting his hands/arms up by his face so they couldn't get a good profile at first and they were like "Man, he's stubborn!"....I think he gets that pretty honestly :)

I hope he does look like me!! Although I think his Papa is pretty handsome too :)
