My funny Jack-entine

Jackson is 4 going on 13 and he has the attitude to prove it! I have to admit that while he frustrates me at times and mouths off like I have never seen a 4 year old do before, he mostly makes me laugh and I am often times trying to hide my smiles and giggles.

Hidding giggles from him is very important as he is easily embarrassed and offended when people laugh at him.

Here are a few things that made me laugh this week:

* Aaron and I painted our bedroom on Saturday and Sunday when Jackson and Brodie were at their other parent's houses. Jackson has a lot of nightmares during the night and the rule in our house is that if you have a nightmare you can come lay on the floor in our bedroom as long as you don't attempt to crawl in our bed and you also aren't allowed to wake us up. Fair enough, right? Well anyway, we painted and rearranged our room and Jackson comes home and bursts into tears when he saw it. I asked him what was wrong and he cries out "but where am I going to sleep now?!?" Love him.

* We FINALLY got our mums last night. Yeah... Yeah... kinda behind on the times here. So I went out to plant them and Jackson wanted to help so he brought his shovel and we started digging away. He was digging his hole and I was digging mine. I heard "uhhh... there's a worm in this hole. I think I need to find a new place to dig. This worm doesn't want me disturbing him." Notice how he didn't mention his intense FEAR of worms... I picked up the worm then and told him that some kids eat worms and asked him if he wanted to try it out and he then told me that he was ready to go inside. Heeeeheeee

* I was "attempting" to do homework the other night and he wanted to go downstairs and play darts. (My walls look terrible ever since the boys discovered this amazing game. Don't ask to see them.) I told him he could go down and play darts and I would be down there in 5 minutes. He says ok and turns to go downstairs. He then comes back and says "Mom, do you know how much I love you? I love you so much." Yup... I dropped my homework and went down right then. How do you say no to that?!?

So while the mouthiness gets on my last nerve and I get annoyed that he doesn't do what I ask him to do, when I ask him to do it, I need to remember he's only 4. At times he truly believes he's a teenager but I want him to stay young as long as possible. I want him to have FUN in life and I never want him to stop making me laugh.
